Cauldon Ceramics Cobalt Betty 2 Cup Teapot In Blue With Lithograph is the Cobalt Betty - the Staffordshire Brown Betty thrown from the same Etruria Marl red clay, but finished under a deep cobalt blue glaze instead of the traditional brown. This two-cup carries a hand-applied lithograph transfer over the blue glaze.

Product Highlights & Features

  • Same pot, different glaze: The body, the globe shape and the roughly cut non-drip spout are identical to the Brown Betty. Only the glaze changes, so it brews and pours exactly the same way.
  • Staffordshire red clay underneath: The dense local clay is what keeps tea hot in the pot. The blue is a finish, not a different material.
  • Size: A 2-cup pot - enough for a pot for yourself, or two proper mugs.

About Cauldon Ceramics: Cauldon Ceramics is the oldest surviving maker of the Brown Betty teapot in Britain, working from Stoke-upon-Trent in the Staffordshire Potteries. It still throws the pot from local Etruria Marl red clay and finishes it in the Rockingham glaze that Staffordshire potters settled on by the 1750s.

British Food Supplies sources and imports products directly from the UK for customers buying British favourites in the USA.
